Notice for our Marketplace (Obamacare) clients

The message asking you to authorize your agent is official. It's not a scam.

Since October 2026 the Health Insurance Marketplace requires every person to confirm, once per plan year, who their agent is. Without that confirmation we can't renew, review or fix your 2027 plan. It takes a minute and we do it with you over the phone.

  • Your agent: Roberto Rojas Jr. · NPN 8520815
  • Same Cutler Bay office since 2009

Health plans through RTM Brokers of Florida, Inc., a private agency not affiliated with the government. Agent Roberto Rojas Jr., NPN 8520815.

What the message looks like

  • It arrives by text message, by email or by an automated phone call.
  • It goes to the phone or email listed on your Marketplace application, which may not be the one you use today.
  • It carries a one-time code or link that expires in 15 minutes.
  • You can get up to three notices in 24 hours, no more.
  • It is sent by the Marketplace-approved enrollment platform our office uses (HealthSherpa), not by our phone number.

Check this before you approve

If the message names an agent, it should say Roberto Rojas Jr. If it names someone else or another agency, don't approve it and call us at 305-883-8333.

How we do it with you

We talk first

We call you from the office, or you call us at 305-883-8333. Because the code expires in 15 minutes, we do it while we're on the line.

You get the code or the link

With your permission we send the request. Within seconds the message reaches your phone or your email.

You confirm and it's done

Your authorization is good for the whole plan year. Then we review your 2027 plan without rushing.

Protect your account

A code you weren't expecting

If you get a code or a link and we didn't give you a heads-up by call or by a message from SVM Insurance, don't share it or open it. It may be another agent trying to get into your account. Call us and we'll check.

Authorizing hands over the key

When you authorize an agent, that person manages your Marketplace account for the plan year, until you authorize someone else. Only authorize people you know.

No one should charge you

The authorization costs nothing. If someone asks for money or a card to “activate” or “keep” your Obamacare, hang up.

If you changed your phone or email

The code goes to the phone and email on your application. If you no longer use them, tell us before November 1.

Under CMS rules the client makes that change personally, without the agent on the line: call the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596 (TTY 1-855-889-4325) and ask to update your contact information. We'll tell you beforehand what they will ask.

Some people get an identity check

Before the authorization, the Marketplace verifies identity in three cases: new clients, people switching agents, and plans whose monthly payment after the tax credit is $30 or less.

The check runs through Experian, the company the Marketplace uses. If it doesn't pass the first time, we give you the reference number and the help line.

Who will call you

One of them, from the Cutler Bay office. If you're not sure who is calling, hang up and dial 305-883-8333 yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to do this every year?

Yes. The authorization is good for one plan year. For 2027 you will most likely be asked again, even if you have been with us for years.

What happens if I don't authorize anyone?

Your coverage follows the normal Marketplace rules and may renew on its own. What changes is that we can't get into your application to renew, review or fix it; any change would have to be made by you directly with the Marketplace.

Why does the message say RTM Brokers or Roberto Rojas instead of SVM Insurance?

RTM Brokers of Florida, Inc. is the health agency of SVM Insurance, and Roberto Rojas Jr. (NPN 8520815) is your agent of record with the Marketplace. Same team, same Cutler Bay office.

Can you switch my plan with this authorization?

We make no change without talking to you. The authorization lets us work on your application; the decision to stay, switch or cancel is yours.

Another agency called saying I need to “update” my Obamacare. What do I do?

Don't share codes or personal details. Hang up and call us at 305-883-8333. If you think someone changed your plan without your permission, the Marketplace Call Center answers at 1-800-318-2596 (TTY 1-855-889-4325).
